"Dance your cares away, worries for another day..."

So I just wanted to show you some of the hats and headbands my business partner and I are selling out of our little company March Hair Mad Hatter. Take a look and for those out there on Etsy, help me get our store on there to work-for some reason it isn't working and it is most upsetting!

P.S. Notice how there are way more pics of my partner than me? Ha! She is a way cuter model than I am, her name is Jenn!

"Protect your dong and swing like your life depended on it..."

So I'm a bit behind but here are my goals for 2010, that's right goals, not resolutions. I did this last year and accomplished my year long goal to live a green, organic, and fairtrade life. I am proud to say that I am as green as I can be at this moment (minus being able to buy an all green and sustainable house with my very own garden)! I eat only organic, green, fairtrade foods, make/buy beauty and household products of the same nature, and only buy orgo/green/or re-used/vintage/recycled clothes and furniture (like our new table and benches)! I am so glad that I made that my goal of '09 and that Joe jumped on board. We feel better and we live better.

So in the success of last year's big accomplishment here are my 2010 goals:

Personal Goals
1) Continue with 2009's goal and try to start a small herb garden in a window box for my apartment.

2) Rescue a pup of my own. I am a dog-sitting fiend but I'd like to start my own little pack.

3) Really travel to Poland and Ireland this summer as planned.

4) Pay off all these medical bills.

5) Become completely financially independent.

Professionally
1) Get representation commercially and theatrically.

2) Get a day player spot on a television show.

3) Sell 50 of March Hair Mad Hatter hats/headbands and get a little following on Etsy.

4) Get at least 15 followers for my little blog.

And those are my goals for 2010. What do you think?

Adventures in Dog-sitting!

So I am pup sitting for the week for my good friends over at My Life With Dogs and already it has been a fun go of it. :D

First of all I love these pups! They are the two sweetest (and for the most part) well-behaved pits ever and now with their third Big Carl it's been a funny two days. Big Carl is picking up on all the little mannerisms his two big sisters have. He is super rambunctious and curious and playful whenever Mesa is and is now getting super jealous if anyone gets any attention other than him like Baily does. And when we all walk he has to sniff every place those two do. It's just so funny and cute!

Now since it's rainy they are snuggled on top of me on top of the couch, it's super cute. It's the perfect weather for it though :)

This has been a busy week but I'm plugging along. I'm working a lot at both my jobs, still not sure if I'm going to lose the one but we'll see how it all goes. I'm just doing all I can to save as much money up as possible before I possibly lose it so I can have my rent, etc. taken care of if the income stops.

Joe and I got to spend our first Sunday morning together in awhile, I always work Sunday brunch so it was nice to spend the morning with him. We went to the Sunday Hollywood Farmer's Market and got loads of fresh herbs, strawberries, veggies, and cheese, It was so much fun! Loads of free samples of delicious fresh foods and then I bought us a gyro for lunch-it was SO tasty! Then we went to the Sunday flea Market on Melrose and Fairfax (at the little high school there) and we found a vendor who makes tables, desks, etc. from reclaimed lumber. So we talked with him and ending up getting a kitchen table and 2 "Long Island Boot Benches" for a steal! And the man delivered them to us that night-it was perfect!

We also watched a movie (Tango & Cash-I'd never seen it, it was pretty ridiculous) and then walked and played with my friend Meghan's little dog Mimi. She is a hoot. Such a little purse dog but she has this one toy, a stuffed monkey, and she beat up on that thing while we were there like a big dog would. It was the funniest thing (and super adorable)!

We had friends for dinner. Joe made homemade pesto and I made homemade spicy puttanesca and we both made a salad together. Then Joe made a lemon zabiliogne to go with our fresh strawberries. And our friends brought wine and chocolate and bacon brownies. It was so much fun! The perfect way to spend a Sunday off! :D

Now it's just back to the grindstone. Watching these three pups, I'll be walking Mimi the pup this week too, and my two jobs which I've been working at both pretty much everyday. We'll see if I get any sleep ever, oh and I think I have a cold coming on too. Oh well, what can I do?

"They had a productive, distinguished decade..."

So I have been SUPER stressed out! I might be losing my office gig which I love because my boss is an actor and uber flexible and the bar is amazing and it's steady income. So it's been a little stressful.

Today was the straw that broke the camel's back. I left work all stressed out, my shoulders feeling tight and pinched with a headache coming on. I promptly sprawled out on the couch, put on a crap movie to veg out to, and checked my emails. Joe came home and saw how ick I was. I lamented saying I just wish I could soak in the tub and chill out (we don't have a plug for the drain so this is impossible. Joe gave me a kiss and said he hoped I felt better and that he was going to go buy groceries.

20 minutes go by. He returns and starts unpacking the groceries. He goes to the bathroom and starts running the shower. I ask what he's doing and he says "nothing, just making dinner and cleaning up a bit, don't worry, just relax" He then fiddles about for 10 minutes or so and then hands me my fluffy robe and says "I drew you a bath, go soak a little while bear." I literally start crying. And thank him. He leads me to the bath, I light some candles and grab a book, and just soak in a hot bubble bath for 45 minutes. It was amazing. And so is he.

I am such a lucky girl to have someone who loves me that much! And he made jambalaya for dinner whilst I was soaking! What a sweetie-pie I have gotten myself. He made my whole day so much better and now I just feel all snuggly and sleepy and full. Great ending to a poopy day. Love my love. Now it's time for some chocolate and a movie in bed! :D

"The Eagles are gonna be a lot better than they were last week because they cannot be worse..."

So Joe.
And how we met...

Well it started in the summer before my last year of undergrad. I had had a falling out with my roommates/best friends and moved to a new place with a friend who left me with two roommates I didn't know. So I was developing my friendship with my bud Bridget. And spent a lot of time with her. And she had moved into a co-op on MSU's campus.

Side Bar: the definition of a coop.a

So one night I was coming over to meet her roomie's for the first time and everyone was out on the front porch of O-house drinking and playing darts. And I saw this one boy who I thought was very cute throwing darts and then drinking his beer. I was introduced to everyone and then a girl came out and the cute boy kissed her so I crossed him off the list as taken. That was Joe.

Well through out the course of the year I became good friends with most everyone in the co-op and pretty much lived there (rather than my apt. with my creep-star roommate Rick). I went on a few dates with some of the guys there. None of that panned out. And Joe's chica (they were never officially an item) ended up going down to Paraguay with the Peace Corps. And with all the time I had been spending with him I started to develop a crush. My friend LaFawnduh (really Christina but that was her uber sweet nickname) had a crush on one of the other coop boys so we would plot how to spend time with the boys and just be little girls about our crushes. Well eventually I confessed my crush to Joe (after numerous attempts to give him the hint and him not getting it I took the blunt approach). He didn't talk to me for about a week.

That weekend after was the co-op annual No Pants Party. It's held every February and you can wear anything but pants. Yes, I do mean anything. Wrestling unitards, underroos (aka underpants), a barrel, a skirt, cut-off shorts, etc. So I decide if Joe doesn't want to talk to me or date me then I will show him what he is missing. So I got all dolled up in my skirt from Paris with the slit up to my thigh and a top I bought in Chicago very similar to the halter part of Marilyn Monroe's famous white dress. And I showed up making my grand entrance.

Everyone was already a little tipsy. And the party was pretty packed already. I found LaFawnduh and Bridget. My other coop friends including Joe found me. Joe was a little tipsy too and put his arm around me. And that's when I knew he liked me back. So I said I would sell cups with Joe. We were down in the kitchen selling cups and doing pant checks. NO PANTS! And I leaned in and he got the hint and gave me our first kiss. I told him it took him long enough. He said sorry and kissed me again. It was cute and silly.

The rest of the party was just fun times and silliness and I asked Joe if we were gonna cuddle that night? He said yes and by the end of the party we went up to bed and snuggled all night. Okay and made out a lot. The next morning pretty much everyone in the house had hooked up with someone and all laughed about it. I spent the day hanging out with Joe and the rest of the coopers. The day after was Valentine's Day. I went to school and then over to the coop (as per usual) and was doing my homework when all of a sudden on the keyboard of the lap top I was typing on slid a red rose wrapped in pink tissue paper. I looked up and it was Joe smiling at me.

Isn't that the cutest thing ever?! I gave him a pack of skittles that I got for him. Turns out he wrapped it himself and gave every gal in the coop one too. He didn't want anyone to not have a Valentine. Then the whole coop watched The Notebook, Joe and I split two bottles of wine, and we snuggled, and Joe cried and when people teased him he said, and I quote: "You'd have to be a robot to not cry at this movie. Man fuck you guys!" Then I stayed over again because I was super tipsy and we snuggled all night. It was the start to us dating. And it was pretty perfect. We pretty much stayed the night together every other night. And stayed up until 5am talking and getting to know each other. And don't get the wrong idea, we didn't have sex until we had been dating for 6 months and the time was right. It was just a really sweet beginning to a soon to be four year relationship. February 12 is the big 4 years. Eek! So exciting. :)

So that is the story of Joe and I.
